Houston Fall Market 2018

It all starts with a truck…

It is a chilly day in Cedar Rapids, IA and I am reflecting on our Market. It was such an emotional experience. We had new collections and new ways to use our beautiful fabrics. We had the pleasure of seeing customers from the past and meeting new ones. We were inspired by the beautiful projects that all of you talented sewists put together. From beautiful bags to art quilts it is always an honor to be a part of your heirloom pieces.

I began our journey to Houston Market loading a Penske truck. I thought the 16ft truck would be large enough to carry our walls and platforms. The configuaration of our booth was so different this time. It was 50ft long and I wanted to make sure we could still have the Frond flair. As I backed the truck up to our warehouse dock I realized I would need a larger truck. I drove back and exchanged our little 16ft truck for a 26ft Penske truck. I had the booth laid out in my mind to look like a storefront. To experience our showroom in just 50 ft.

It was a lot of work and the Houston dock staff gives me a hard time shaking their heads and asking me “What are you building? A House?” They were very helpful and we got everything in place. Then comes the fun part! Placing all of the beautiful new creations out on the floor. So stay tuned because we will have patterns for flower pillows, patterns for the weave phlox quilt, the new Lola quilt, art canvas, waxed cottons, waxed canvas, bag kits, embellishment packs, sari ribbon and of course the T-Shirts and new fabric collections, Lola, Greatest Hits Volume 1, and Resilience.

We are working on giving you a list of our Frond Shop Partners so you can walk in and experience Frond for yourself. So thanks to everyone who came by the booth and keep checking on us for more exciting classes and projects.
